My husband and I had made the conclusion to branch out from chickens and buy our first goat . Obviously , we were a minuscule green about the whole thing because we only buy one ( and 1 caprine animal quickly turned into 3 . )

Materials Needed:
1. Collect Slabs
Naturally , we build our Capricorn cabin out of slab . If you see my house you would chop-chop realize almost everything is built from pallets or slabs because we can unremarkably easily gather them for free .

We have a sawmill up the road from our house that we often cart trailer loads of free slabs from . Our goat cabin was no different . We dedicated a whole day to hale slab for this project .
Plus , whatever we did n’t utilise we could turn into firewood .
So if you have an opportunity to get free slabs , jump on it . They make great turnout for projects like these .
2. Clear the Area
When we got our first goat I was totally unprepared . I was newfangled to the wholehomesteadingthing and was n’t exactly sure what to do .
I did a lot of inquiry , and I was more concerned about properfencing .
Here is my mortifying confession . I thought I was going to get a miniature dwarf goat . I imagined I could have this goat like I would a dog in my backyard .

Though I loved my stooge , I did n’t like them being on my article of furniture . My ambition of have goats in my contiguous backyard faded , and I realized it was time to give them their own eatage domain .

However , if you are able to purchase small goats and keep them in your backyard , then that ’s good . Nothing establish me happier than see little Capricorn running around in the grand like small dogs . It just did n’t process out for me .
He quietly work up me a pasture area for my goats which think that some of the country had to be clear because he was kind enough to put them close-fitting enough to the household that I could mistreat outdoors on the back porch , and the goat and I could still see each other .
You might be wondering why I wanted laughingstock if I knew so little about them . I primitively got them as a dairy source , but I also reckon they are wanted and funny fauna .

3. Frame Up the Cabin
Once the land was cleared and the fence was up around their area , my husband began framing up their cabin .

5. Insulate the Goat Cabin

However , we got a infant billy goat a few month after we purchase our girls . He is still one of the overnice goats and also a peachy protector for our girl .
Well , baby billy caprine animal do n’t detain babies , and he now has a Brobdingnagian set of horns . He like to lay up in the loft bed and depend out of the barn , and I pretend the canvas wall were blocking his view .
So he used his horns to remove the canvass , and we stopped bothering putting it back . The goats seem strong and our son is glad .

When we built a new one , we bring through the wood and put it to practiced economic consumption with this project .
